Join our innovative team at Lumeca Health, where we are dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare delivery. We are seeking a talented AWS DevOps and Cloud Ops Engineer to lead our DevOps and AWS cloud operations, with a key focus on managing our IT security infrastructure. 

As an AWS DevOps and Cloud Ops Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud solutions while ensuring the security and reliability of our IT operations. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment. 


Lumeca has an office in Regina, Saskatchewan however 90%+ of the work is currently done remotely.

Primary responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain our AWS cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. 
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and streamline development processes. 
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency and performance. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues. 
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, including IAM policies, encryption, and access controls. 
  • Maintain security controls for our SOC 2 Type 2 Certification in cooperation with our privacy officer 
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. 
  • Stay up to date with AWS services and industry trends to propose and implement innovative solutions. 
  • Document processes, configurations, and changes to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance. 

Technical requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Proven experience in managing AWS cloud environments, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and CloudFormation. 
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline. 
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, or similar languages. 
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices. 
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Nice to have: 
    • Experience working with Vanta or any equivalent security/compliance monitoring platforms 
    • Understanding of PIPEDA, security frameworks, and security laws
